I'm having issues with Stripe, so I'm about to call all posh on them reminding them I am a descendant of the great Boru, the first true High King of Ireland. Of course, from what I've read much of Ireland can say the same. I run two different substacks (one about Everton) (And the other about -music, history, politics (ie why Tories, GOP, Democrats and Labour are all bastard children of same evil corporate father!) Tech and whatever else burrows into my brain through my ears enough, so it can't be ignored. I'll sent you links if you're interested. Hope to get some cash coming your way.
Having run my own fanzine, 30 years ago, I love this. in the context we get raw, blatant journalism. I get the commercial world we're in, but sometimes I just want to read real music journalism that, like you say, isn't about t-shirt sales, or payola from major labels. In towns we've never heard of, in hole in the wall dives and VFW halls, there's been this brooding for the past 30 some years of teen angst propagated through cheap guitars. Granted most of it's meh, but a lot of it is more cutting edge and exciting than anything the corporate masters at the majors will try to force feed us. Some where in the dark is the next Brainiac, the next Voluptuous Horror Of Karen Black, the next Jesus Lizard, or New Bomb Turks. Click-bait media isn't concerned with finding those sweaty kids in those dives.
Finally, something good to read.
Why, thank you! Welcome aboard. 🙂
