How is it, you’ve become my favorite music writer? (Sorry Peter Blackstock.). You captured a little about Ms Faithful so well. I wish she’d had more of a career. I love her voice. Young and old.
Awwww, thank you, Amanda! (And yes, sorry Peter!) However, I am curious as to your wish. 60 years, 23 studio albums, and 26 singles seems like a pretty substantial career. You wanted more? 🙂
Maybe more radio play and acknowledgment from the industry that she was more than a scenester. She had a great career, but not the success she was due. You’re right.
Her more pop-oriented material in the ‘60s certainly got tons of airtime. But yeah, her heavier, edgier stuff from 1980 onward gained a huge cult audience, but a cult one nevertheless. She was respected enough in the industry to get prestigious record deals. But no, she was never as massive and media-saturated as in her ‘60s moment.
She was beyond words. A sad day. “We shall go no more a-roving…”

Thanks Tim.

And a few cool film performances.
